This just totally made my morning...

Dead Rising Zombie Origins

From 1up.com:

No one knows what happened to the residents of Willamette, Colorado.

Willamette was like any other city -- children playing on the streets, people going to work, families shopping in air-conditioned malls.

But something strange happened. As if a diabolical experiment gone wrong, the entire population turned into flesh-eating zombies, robbed of their own free will except for one thing: to devour any humans in their way.

Although the zombie origins are still a mystery, 1UP uncovered startling new details about parasitic insects and its relationship with the zombies. The report "Notations on Research of Parasitic Wasp Organism," authored by lead Biologist Russell Barnaby, may explain what created the zombies.

Resident Evil 5 Game News

From computerandvideogames.com:
Capcom has cleared up mounting confusion about whether Resident Evil will, after all, be coming to the Nintendo Wii, by announcing that it is working on a specific version of the zombie-crunching franchise, rather than a port of Resident Evil 5, for Nintendo's remote-controlled sort-of-next-gen console.

In an interview with Pro-G, Ressie producer Jun Takeuchi seemed to suggest that Resident Evil wouldn't be coming to the Wii (cue much wailing and gnashing of teeth - and not just from the zombies). But fear not: it seems that gremlins got into the translation, and Takeuchi was specifically referring to Resident Evil 5.

Indeed, Capcom has confirmed that while it is developing Resident Evil 5 specifically for Xbox 360 and PS3 -- which means we can expect zombies with fiendishly clever AI and a tasty level of graphical detail -- the Wii will get its own, special version of Resident Evil which will be completely different to RE5. But which, presumably, will transform the Wii-mote into a head-popping shotgun or chainsaw, or whatever - the zombie-mashing possibilities are endless. Still hurrah for Ressie Wii! and we'll of course bring you more news as it shambles out of Capcom's lair.

A Day in the Life of a 'Resident Evil' Zombie

From Bloody-Disgusting:
If you head on over to Horror-Movies.ca you can check out footage from the set of Sony Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Extinction, which is mostly a day in the life of a zombie in the hell-like heat of Mexico. We'll have out own on set report for you later next year (yikes) when we're given permission to share the experience with you. Milla Jovovich is back as Alice, and she's running with a new pack of humans, leading a caravan that's cutting through the Nevada desert on a long trek to Alaska. Hunted by the minions of the perpetually scheming Dr. Isaacs, Alice has zombies hungry for her flesh (once again) and lab rats hungry for her blood -- while Alice is hungry for only one thing: revenge.

Stir of Echoes sequel

From Bloody-Disgusting:
Today the first ever pic from Lionsgate's Stir of Echoes: The Dead Speak was posted online and features star Rob Lowe. Written and Directed by Cube: Zero's Ernie Barbarash, the story revolves around a soldier who returns home from a tour of duty in Iraq only to be haunted by visions of the dead. The pic also stars Zachary Bennett, Nicholas Carella, Grace Lynn Kung, Pj Lazic, Ben Lewis, Jason Mercury, Kim Roberts, Shawn Roberts and Vik Sahay. Read on your first look at the film, which will be released sometime in 2007.

Zombish? Maybe...

Automaton Transfusion at Screamfest

From Bloody-Disgusting:
Major major news from this year's Screamfest Horror Film Festival, which has already announced that Adam Green's highly anticipated Hatchet (review) will be showing. It was revealed to Bloody-Disgusting today (via press release) that Steven Miller's Automaton Transfusion, which we hyped last week here, has officially been selected for the fest. Screamfest, which has been called the "Sundance of Horror", will be held October 13-22 at the Mann Chinese 6 Theaters in Hollywood, CA. If you head on over to the official website you can pick up full festival passes right now and guarantee yourself seats in every screening and even the red carpet premieres, which are yet to be announced. Read on for the official press release on Automatron entering Screamfest.

Dead Tired

From Fango:
The folks at Emerald Productions have a program of their short films, including a few horror titles, playing tonight at Manhattan’s Dekk Restaurant Bar and Lounge (134 Reade Street). Included are two movies by Ernie Rockelman: DEAD TIRED, in which a trio of roommates become trapped by a horde of zombies (the short “combines macabre humor with hellacious horror en route to a putrescent finish,” according to the Emerald site), and CARVER (“Your expectations will be sliced and diced in the haunting realm of Carver!”). There’s also Kent Green’s DEAD WITHIN, a surreal story about an injured man and the strange experiences he undergoes when he seeks help at a cabin in the woods. The show starts at 8 p.m., and admission is free; check out the Emerald site for more info on the show, the movies and their makers.

Romero Returns with Diary of the Dead

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From Bloody-Disgusting:
A year after a moderate successful release of Universal's Land of the Dead here in the States and a very impressive overseas run, George A. Romero is once again on top of the zombie world and ready for another mouthful of flesh. We broke the news way back last summer that Romero wanted to begin a brand new trilogy of the dead, starting with Land, with the second film being entitled World of the Dead. No news has surfaced since then and I had thought that maybe it was dead in the water - but alas I was wrong! Welcome to George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead! Read on for the official news and plot details!

The dead are rising again.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that horror maven George A. Romero has signed on to write and direct "George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead," the latest sequel to his 1968 cult classic "Night of the Living Dead."

With a story mixing elements of "The Blair Witch Project" and the long-running "Dead" series, the film will follow a group of college students shooting a horror movie in the woods who stumble upon a real zombie uprising. When the onslaught begins, they seize the moment as any good film students would, capturing the undead in a "cinema verite" style that causes more than the usual production headaches.

After going more than two decades without making an independently financed zombie film, Romero told his production partner Peter Grunwald he was frustrated working within the system. "I was trying to convince Peter we could just run off and do it ourselves," he said.

Zombie Pirates

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From IGN.com:
Just announced, the ever popular Dragon Con--which virtually takes over the South Labor Day weekend--will be featuring an exclusive new Arthur Suydam oil painting entitled "Some Like it Very Hot," as it's official badge...(which, by the way, is not stinky in the least.)

In fact, according to convention promoter Pat Henry, this is one of his "favorite pieces of art ever done for the convention." Seems as if fans and collectors of Suydam memorabilia will agree, as for this exclusive, Arthur calls on his fine art roots to create a piece that is inspired by both 1950's Hollywood glamour and the current Zombie craze.

It has already been a record year for the "Marvel Zombie" cover artist, as that series has set amazing records for number of reprints, with the hardcover collected edition currently hitting stands. More Zombies are in the works certainly, but Suydam, never content to sit still, is also "covering" the new Marvel series, "Hellstrom: Son of Satan," while DC Comics and Clampett Studios have just released the new Suydam Batman giclee "Domain of the Bat."

My Name is Bruce Stuff

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From Fango:
Fango fave Bruce Campbell sent over a couple of exclusive first pics from the sci-fi/chiller/comedy MY NAME IS BRUCE, which he produced, directed and starred in and which we first reported on here in an interview with Campbell's EVIL DEAD co-star Ellen Sandweiss, who shares the screen again with Campbell as his ex-wife. The multitalented genre star tells Fango, "I wanted to 'leak' a first look at the nemesis of MY NAME IS BRUCE: Guan-Di, the Chinese god of war who protects the dead and bean curd. Fear him!" Pictured below is a mock Fango cover Campbell crafted to spotlight another of the flick's creepy creatures.

Cornucopia of 28 Weeks Later

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Casting and gaming news from Fango:
Variety reports that Jeremy Renner will take one of the lead roles in 28 WEEKS LATER, the sequel to 28 DAYS LATER coming next May 11 from Fox Atomic. The script by Rowan Joffe takes place you-know-how-long after the conclusion of the first movie, with American Special Forces teams helping to repopulate London after the rage plague decimated the city. But one carrier remains alive, and the infection spreads again. Spanish director Juan Carlos (INTACTO) Fresnadillo will helm 28 WEEKS, which is being produced by the DAYS team of Danny Boyle (director), Alex Garland (scripter) and Andrew MacDonald (producer). Renner, who will play Sgt. Doyle in the sequel, first won notice playing the serial-killing title role in DAHMER (pictured), which launched him into major-studio features like S.W.A.T. and NORTH COUNTRY.

Meanwhile, the trade also reports that Tim (DARK WATER) Roth has joined Naomi Watts in FUNNY GAMES, Michael Haneke's remake of his own 1997 German chiller. The duo will play a husband and wife who, along with their son, are terrorized at their vacation cabin by a pair of young sadists. The redux, which begins shooting in September, will be produced by Tartan Films, Halcyon Pictures and the French Celluloid Dreams company.

Living Dead Girl

From Bloody-Disgusting:
Blue Star Pictures and Mandalay Pictures have optioned T.S. Faull's original screenplay Living Dead Girl, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Eric Tessier is attached to direct. Faull's screenplay centers on a dead woman who rises from the grave as a zombie to track down her killer and save his latest victim. She is aided on her journey by a handsome funeral director who has a thing for dead girls and helps her stave off decomposition.
Is this anything like this Living Dead Girl? Starring the awesome Mark Borchardt? No, I suppose not. Here's a description from AICN:

LIVING DEAD GIRL - directed by Jon Springer, this a genre of film I've never seen before: a silent-zombie-movie! Anyway, the first part of the movie is a hilarious silent-movie spoof; then the tone shifts to a grotesque, full-color, Romero-style gorefest; then, the third act transcends into the arena of genius, with Mark Borchardt of American Movie as Jesus! If I had to pick a favorite movie from the showcase, this would be it, but I'm a sucker for a good zombie flick, plus the soundtrack features "Harry, You're A Beast!" by the greatest band ever, the Mothers of Invention! 5 out of 5.
Blue Star and Mandalay might want to consider a name change, though I doubt they will.

Day of the Dead Remake – MegaSpoilers

From Bloody-Disgusting:
I've seen spoilers in my days, I mean we posted a picture of Freddy decapitated on the first week of shooting Freddy vs Jason, but this is one helluva a scoop. It's nothing visual, but I will tell you that it will really, really piss some of you off. Where are my thoughts on this "new" zombie in the Day of the Dead remake? Don't know just yet, let us just see how the film develops first, I did enjoy the Dawn of the Dead remake. Read on for the skinny on a zombie named "Bud", who will be played by Stark Sands.

B-D reader 'intotheblue1980' points us to Stark Sands' official website where he writes this mega spoiler blog:
Time for a long-overdue update. I have some exciting news, that I have been biting my tongue about to stay on the safe side.

I recently arrived in Bulgaria to shoot a horror film called Day of the Dead. It is a remake of a classic film by the master of the genre, George Romero. I was offered the role weeks ago, but I decided to keep it to myself until I actually started shooting, because I have already experienced what its like to have a film fall apart a day before it begins. Not this time, though. So here I am in BULGARIA. What?!

This is a weird place. It's unlike any country I've ever been to, because they have a different alphabet than most of the world. Looks like Russian, if you've ever seen it. So I can't read anything, and I can't phonetically spell anything, either, which is a first. Getting around on my own without a driver would be a nightmare, also because Bulgarians don't have to pass a driving test to get a license. Just got to fork over some cash, and you are an official driver. It makes for some pretty harrowing situations in the cabs. They also don't believe in seatbelts. Don't get me started on that.

The film is a typical zombie movie-- virus infects town, people start biting each other, virus spreads by the bites, and a handful of survivors try to make it out of town alive. In this one, the military is brought in to enforce a quarantine on the small town of Leadville, CO, because of the mysterious virus. Once they realize the virus eventually makes people start ravenously attacking each other, it's too late... EXCEPT for a few. The principal characters are Sarah Cross (Mena Suvari)-- a tough young army corporal; Salazar (Nick Cannon)-- a sharp tongued army badass; Bud Crain (me)-- a freshly scrubbed young private seeing his first real action; their Captain Rhodes (Ving Rhames); and Sarah's younger brother and his girlfriend (Michael Welch & Annalynne McCord). I have a fantastic part in this one. I am a nervous, vegetarian private who is sweet on Mena's character from the beginning. I've never seen combat before, but as soon as people start changing I get to kick some serious zombie ass. About halfway through the film, I am bitten on the wrist, and after pouring bleach on the wound in an attempt to clean it, Mena handcuffs me to the backseat of the Hummer we are traveling in, in case I change. When she and Nick return from the gun store they are looting, I have become a zombie, but they notice that I'm not trying to eat them (I have the distinction of being the first ever vegetarian zombie), so they keep me around. I also seem to retain some of my former self, so if I start to wander off they just bark some military orders at me (Atten-HUT, about-FACE, etc) and I do a zombie version of the order. Without giving too much away (emphasis mine), I end up saving the day at the end of the film, so I am loving this job. Wait till you see the zombie make-up they have me in, it's amazing. Our make-up team just came off of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3. They are phenomenal.

So I will be here in Sofia, Bulgaria, for 6 weeks, working pretty much every day. We are 10 hours ahead of LA time here, so the jet lag was pretty rough. Everyone has been great to work with, we are all getting along well. I just got back from golfing with Nick, his friend Kase, and the director Steve Miner. I'm off to go watch the original Day of the Dead up in my room now, so I can see what exactly we are re-making. If anyone out there has any tips on Bulgaria, let me know. This place is pretty intimidating. I will try to get clearance to post some pics of me in zombie mode here on the site... You won't believe how good this is going to look.

Stark
Sucks about the spoilers, but yahoo on the first Veggie zombie!

Dead West

From Fango:
On the cusp of some exciting release news regarding his debut horror feature HATCHET, and in the midst of casting a forthcoming comedy, writer/director Adam Green has informed Fangoria that his next venture into horror will be DEAD WEST. Stephen L'Heureux is producing under his Solipsist Films banner (currently in preproduction on LOST SOULS director Janusz Kaminski's WWII drama WHITE ROSE).

This time, Green will be shifting away from the swampy environs of HATCHET and splashing the red against an Old West backdrop. Based on the 2005 graphic novel of the same name by Rick Spears and Rob G., WEST concerns a bounty hunter who happens upon the cursed town of Lazarus, a plot of land that was once an Indian village but was laid to waste during westward expansion. This settlement soon lives up to its name when its former inhabitants rise from the dead to exact revenge on the "white man" who put 'em six feet under.

Call for Zombie Family! Wife Swap!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So...I recieved this in my email:
I'm a Casting Producer with ABC Television and we're looking for great families who love to stand out from the crowd, families who do not conform to society's standards of "normal." We're looking for families who perform in punk or goth bands, families who own hearses, families who own and operate haunted houses, families who love the gothic style, families who are interested in vampires and zombies – basically families with any unique or unusual interest! We're looking for those fun, larger than life characters who live so-called “unconventional” lifestyles - families who aren't afraid to be different.

We're currently casting for ABC's hit family show, 'Wife Swap!' Please don't be confused by the title - "Wife Swap" is a family show on ABC primetime. The premise is simple: two moms from two very different families get the opportunity to swap lives (but not bedrooms - everyone has their own!) for a week to experience what it's like to live a different lifestyle - and to see what they can teach each other about their own! In this case we're looking to feature head-strong families with unique interests and hobbies - and all the fun that goes along with it. I would greatly appreciate you forwarding my information on to any of your family members, friends, and associates who might be interested in sharing their lives with us for a week!

Got a family? Got a bit of a weird family? Dig on zombies or any of thee above listed requirements? Contact me and I'll refer you. Be on TV! Annoy a family that is the complete opposite of you! Fun!

Bad Day LA

From videogames1.mtv.com:
American McGee's hobo empowerment action game goes gold for PC; City of Angels set to be hit by terrorists, zombies, tsunamis, and more August 28.

Aspyr Media has confirmed that American McGee's Bad Day L.A. has gone gold and will ship to stores by the end of the month, a bit of good news for a game built on nothing but bad news.

When it ships August 28, Bad Day L.A. will cast players in the role of one of the city's homeless, Anthony Williams. An otherwise fine day turns sour when a terrorist attack spreads biochemical gas throughout the city. .Those who inhale the fumes become zombies and begin to rampage That's followed up by an earthquake, a tsunami, meteors, riots, and a full-on invasion from the Mexican army.

For more on Bad Day L.A., check out GameSpot's recent interview with American McGee, in which the game designer discusses the game's satirical use of violence, possible adaptations for TV and film, and the process of outsourcing development to China. Bad Day L.A. is rated M for Mature.

My Name is Bruce

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From AICN:
MY NAME IS BRUCE starring Bruce Campbell as... Bruce Campbell! The real life actor Bruce Campbell gets mistaken for his character, Ash, from the EVIL DEAD films, and is recruited to fight a real life monster.

Also in the cast is the man-god Ted Raimi, who plays a character called Wing, who is the care-taker of "Guan-di," the Chinese God of War, apparently Bruce's nemesis in the flick. Our scooper, Evil Cedar, says production just wrapped and it's in post! Can't wait! Check out Ted Raimi! He rocks!

Die and Let Live

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From Fango:

Director Justin (RAISING THE STAKES) Channell got in touch with the heads-up that a trailer for his new zombie opus DIE AND LET LIVE recently went on-line at the movie’s MySpace page. Channell describes his new project as “a satire on high-school relationships combined with RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE SANDLOT. For the most part, the comedy comes before the horror elements, though there’s a lot of good gory stuff, as you can see in the trailer.”

The synopsis goes like this: “Hopeless romantic Benny Rodriguez [Josh Lively] throws a party with the help of his friend Smalls [Zane Crosby] to help woo his crush [Sarah Bauer], who is fresh out of a bad relationship with the town sexual conquistador, Andrew Kaegan [Jonas Dixon]. However, a breakout of test subjects at a nearby medical testing facility who have been exposed to an experimental virus that kills and revives the living soon leads into the party, leaving Benny, Smalls and their friends struggling to escape with their lives.” Also appearing are Troma veterans Trent (TERROR FIRMER) Haaga and the company’s president Lloyd Kaufman.

Twilight of the Dead Contest at CC

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From Creature-Corner:

Courtney Colvin was nearing the end of her teenage years when the undead apocalypse began. She survived, forsaking her youth and innocence, and five years later she continues to exist--albeit lonely--in the fortified town of Eastpointe. Nightmares and the unwelcome advances of Leon Wolfe are the worst things she's dealing with now in her otherwise mundane life.

But when a newcomer arrives in town and claims to know the location of the antidote to the zombie plague, it sends Eastpointe into an uproar. To retrieve this cure, she and a group of other survivors must venture outside the relative safety of the compound's walls and into a world ruled and dominated by the flesh-eating undead.

Twilight of the Dead puts a new spin on the zombie genre, yet remains true to the classic rules that have already been set forth. A sure-fire reading pleasure for anyone who loves character-driven horror.

This Special Edition contains an Introduction by David Moody and three bonus short stories detailing important moments in the lives of other survivors.

The book's generated lots of praise from notable zombie authors and looks to be the perfect book to pick up for some fine Halloween reading. If you preorder it you'll get an exclusive companion guide by the author, which has an excerpt from the sequel, a Q&A with the author, artwork, and more. Sounds great.

But for those who'd like to read it now- how do you win a copy of this? Just shoot an email here with your name, mailing address, and the answer to this question-

What's your stance on the whole running/walking zombie debate?

Make sure it says TWILIGHT in the subject!

Good luck to all that enter... and remember- always aim for the head.

New Evil Dead DVD Coming

From Fango:
Fango just spoke with ever-friendly EVIL DEAD starlet Ellen Sandweiss, who reveals that yet another DVD of Sam Raimi’s splatter classic is taking shape for a spring 2007 debut. “For this release, we—meaning the Ladies of the EVIL DEAD [also including Sarah York, née Teresa Seyferth, and Betsy Baker], have been making a documentary for a couple of years now, and it is just about us and our travels. We didn’t know what form we wanted it to take, but we knew that we wanted to do something, so we started collecting footage early on. Finally we found a home for it, which is this new DVD of THE EVIL DEAD. So our new Ladies of THE EVIL DEAD documentary will be on that, and I believe there will also be a couple of little Easter eggs of us at conventions and so forth.”

Season of the Dead Trailer

Three years have passed since the world was taken over by the walking dead. Civilization is all but gone, save for a dedicated group of relay radio and CB operators comprising "OmegaNet". Before long they are discovered by a horde of walking dead and they are forced to re-enter the vast unknown. With no societal rules and regulations, and no one to enforce them, who decides what is right and wrong? Who can you trust?

I can't believe I missed this...check out this great "Dear Anatoly" letter by Marc Patterson at Joe Horror:
I know you’ve bought rights to the franchise and will most likely re-make the original. It’s all the latest gossip on many zombie websites, and you yourself have come out admitting it’s true. (By all means, correct me if I’m wrong.) My question – Why? What the fuck makes you think you have what it takes to take on Return to the Living Dead? How exactly is it that you plan to top, or improve upon Linnea Quigley dancing nude upon a grave? What are your plans to compete with the superior physical comedy of Clu Gulager and James Karen? Seriously? I’m curious. Fuck, thousands of true zombie fans are curious.

Problems Playing Dead Rising, UKers?

From Bit-Tech.net:
One of the 360's most intriguing titles, Dead Rising, has encountered some fairly major problems since it's release in the US on the 8th. Wannabe Zombie killers are complaining that on Standard Definition television sets the in game text is unreadable. A spokeperson for Capcom released a statement addressing the issue:

"Dear Everyone, I have heard your concerns and passed them to every source within Capcom possible. I feel your pain as I, myself, have a large SDTV and am having trouble reading the mission objectives, item names, etc.

Unfortunately it does take time to resolve any issue and we would want to fix the issue appropriately as any changes to any game can create additional problems from the result of change; that's just how game programming works and that's why games go through extensive game testing programs and approvals.

We also would like you to know that we appreciate your feedback as the game was just released and it's feedback from our fans and gamers that make our games great. We appreciate your continued support of Capcom products!"

The Dead Rising game puts you in the shoes of a freelance journalist, intent on getting the scoop on a Zombie infested town. The sandbox game puts you into the middle of the zombie fest giving you complete freedom to go about the game as you choose. A brilliant idea, which could potentially be ruined by this development blooper.

With the European release date currently at 9th September, and with the pentration of high definition television sets being far lower in Europe than the US, we can only hope that they are able to fix things in time. Otherwise this game may end up as (un)dead as one of its in game Zombie flesh eaters.
Bummer.

The Dead have risen.

Humanity teeters on the edge of extinction.

Only one remote island called Cobble remains as the last holdout of civilization and hope until a military unit fleeing the mainland arrives on the islanders' doorstep, demanding to be allowed to stay. Amongst them is a man whose dreams span the length of time itself and who may hold the key to the human race's salvation.

But they are not the islands' only visitors. A dark, demonic creature intent on finishing its work of destroying God's world reawakens the island's dead once more fanning the fires of distrust and hatred as the islanders and the military unit seek to find a way to settle out their differences and work together.

The Dead rule the world. Cunning and intelligent, they have hunted humanity to the edge of extinction and enslaved it. Humans are bred like cattle in unspeakable conditions in prison camps set up by the dead to preserve their dwindling supply of living flesh to feed on. No land is free of the Dead's rotting grasp. . . But on the waves of the ocean, one ship fights on for the future of the human race. On the run, stealing supplies from any port she can, the Queen and her crew struggle to survive until the day humanity can rise up in force and reclaim all that has been taken from them.

It also includes an outline for the unfinished issues four through six, and an all-new, lengthy essay by Brian Keene, in which he frankly discusses the creation of the comic and details the factors that led to the unfinished project's ultimate downfall.

Grind House San Diego Comic Con Footage

From Bloody-Disgusting:
If you head on over to iFilm you can finally check out everything you missed at Weinstein Co.'s Grind House panel, which took place at this year's San Diego Comic Con. The bad news is you still won't be seeing the footage that caused a quiet stir amongst the horror industry (one of the best horror movies ever?). What you will see are four featurettes detailing what you'll see, and what changes have been made (everything's already been announced here). In 'Grind House' Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez each will direct a feature length horror tale including fake movie trailers in between both movies. Rodriguez's part, "Project Terror," will be a zombie pic, while Tarantino's section, "Death Proof," will be a slasher seg featuring an indestructible car.

It has like, 1000 zombies on screen at once, all doing different silly zombie shit, and you can fuck with them so hard. I like beating them with paint cans and then hurling the can at them, which actually spills paint all fucking over them, and them whammo- shittily painted blue zombies!

You can cut the arm off one zombie, and render another harmless by jamming it down his throat!!!

too awesome!

I think he likes it! If this is not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is.

Zombie Behaviors?

From The Register:

What are zombie behaviours?

Asked by Arthur Wasnegel of New York City

Zombie behaviours? Sounds like the action from B-grade horror movie. Or perhaps what The Stepford Wives get up to. In fact, zombie behaviours refer to routine things we do every day and night without even thinking. It is our unconsciousness acting out.

Most brain activity is unconscious. For example, the regulation of body temperature is one of the jobs of the brain. Yet such an activity is hardly done consciously. Zombie agents cause us to automatically and rapidly perform our zombie behaviors - actions without our conscious mind being aware of the stimulus and physical response.

From the Courier-Journal:

Julie Elswick held up the peeling flesh on her arm.

"You want to touch my wound?" she asked.

Several of her 20-something artist friends pressed fingers to the torn-looking, make-believe skin. "Oh, sexy," said Joseph Sims.

A few minutes later a man with fake burns walked by.

"Your burn job is beautiful, man," said Matt Clayton.

The admiring friends were at The Corner yesterday to take part in the final scene -- a climactic battle between bikers and zombies -- of the independent film "Dead Moon Rising."

Call for Zombies: Virginia Beach

For those of you who read my previous post, you know that I'm making a movie called "My Roommate is a Zombie".

We need people who are good at portraying zombies, and this seems like a good place to find them.

If any one here is from Virginia Beach, Virginia, I'd love to hear from you at alexandergore@yahoo.com.

"My Roommate Is A Zombie!" is the title of an independant zombie film me and some friends are working on.

This is just the first in a series of films that are intended to bring some original ideas to the zombie genre of film.

The main idea behind it is to blend some other genres, while still staying true to their zombie roots.

For example "My Roomate is a Zombie!" is part comedy (about two roommates running tests on their friend to see if he's alive) and part action (about a day in the life of a zombie exterminator).

Friday the 13th Remake Talks

From Bloody-Disgusting:
It's been a quiet few months as New Line Cinema's trip back to Camp Crystal Lake looked like it was actually heading south. Today Fangoria has learned that the future Friday the 13th director, Jonathan Liebesman, is heading back to the studio in the coming days to pitch his take on a film that is geared to reignite and overhaul the franchise. After rights issues caused us fans to miss Jason Voorhees' return to the big screen on (October) Friday the 13th, 2006, we can only hope that his take on the franchise can help Jason rise from the dead (again).

Night of the Loving Dead

Check it out.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

No Rest for the Wicked...

What do ancient Satanic curses, rock n' roll, the Mafia, urban legends, Internet porn, Tourette's Syndrome, and zombies have in common?

Read Night of the Loving Dead, and you'll find out. You'll also never go to sleep again.

Night after night, in Grady Memorial Hospital's Autopsy Room #1, the dead awaken. For several hours they rise, with an unholy urge. But these reanimated corpses are driven not by a hunger for human flesh, but by an evil lust for carnal knowledge!

Night of the Loving Dead is a novella of hardcore horror, a trashy, B-movie hybrid of The Sopranos, Day of the Dead and Showgirls. Throw in a demented dash of drive-in camp and a blood-spattered ode to sex on the information superhighway, and you've got a story that might just be the most twisted tale you've ever read.

Night of the Loving Dead. You'll never look at sex and death the same way again...
