Zombie Stuff

Uncut Spanish Zombie

From Fango:
The folks at BCI Eclipse gave Fango the word that the company has acquired eight classic Spanish horror titles, including several featuring genre great Paul Naschy, for release later this year on the new Deimos DVD label (see previous item here). “All-new HD masters are being created,” a BCI source tells Fango, “and the discs will have both the English and Spanish versions—including the nudity cut from the Spanish editions—plus bonus features. No street dates are set yet, as we are waiting for the new HD transfers to be completed.” The first nine releases will be:
-The Naschy-directed EL RETORNO DEL HOMBRE LOBO (NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF, a.k.a. THE CRAVING)

-León Klimovsky’s LA REBELIÓN DE LAS MUERTAS (VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES)

-Carlos Aured’s EL ESPANTO SURGE DE LE TUMBA (HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB)

Dead and Deader

Today we got word on the next film from Mindfire Entertainment entitled Dead and Deader, which stars Dean Cain (Lois & Clark), Susan Ward (Wild Things 2), Guy Torry (American History X), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise), Armin Shimerman (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Dean Haglund (The X-Files, The Lone Gunmen), Ellie Cornell (Halloween IV, House of the Dead 2) and Natassia Malthe (Elektra, DOA). Directed by Patrick Dinhut the action/comedy is about a Special Forces officer who becomes part-human/part-zombie and must stop the deadly spread of an infection which threatens to turn the entire human population of the planet into flesh-eating zombies. Flyboy, again...

It has been quit a while since I've really been excited for a new action figure, but NECA's Flyboy figure from George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead is just gorgeous! NECA writes, "Straight from George Romero's zombie gorefest comes the Flyboy Zombie Action Figure. He's going to be joining a bunch of other cool movie characters in Cult Classics Series 3, but he serves the distinction of being the first George Romero Zombie Action Figure ever! That's a pretty big honor considering how many decades have spanned since the original 'Night of the Living Dead'. Oh, sure, there will be more of his zombie kin from 'Dawn of the Dead' to show up in future Cult Classics lines, but the fact that this ghoul comes first is an undead honor!" Inside you'll find a pic of Flyboy in his clamshell...
"...he serves the distinction of being the first George Romero Zombie Action Figure ever!"
This doesn't strike me as particularly true...what about these guys from Gaga in '99?
