Something about the Day of the Dead remake from Creature-Corner:
Coming Soon had an exclusive interview with the makers of 'Tamara' posted here. In it they spoke with Jeffery Reddick about his upcoming 'Day of the Dead' remake. I'll just post it here. I like what he had to say. For the most part...

'"I can't complain too much," he continued, when asked to comment about the recent slew of horror remakes. "As a fan, I'm kind of tired of them in general. Unless you can bring a fresh take to the story, it's kind of insulting for any director to think they can top Wes Craven or George Romero or Tobe Hooper, but it's a safer bag, because it goes back to the studios not wanting to take a chance on something."'

Reddick is working on the script for the reduex of my favorite of the original Romero films.

'"It's going to be a separate movie," he told us. "We wanted to pay homage to the original with the military and the scientists and the socially relevant stuff that George Romero always does, but we wanted to put a fresh spin on it. There will be similarities, but there'll be differences as well that I think fans will hopefully dig. Steve Miner ('Friday the 13th Part 2') is directing, which I'm really excited about." That's scheduled to start filming later this year.'

I've got my ear to the ground on this one.

Unconfirmed info so far...

Bub will return. (Whether or not Sherman Howard will get to reprise his role remains to be seen.)

And thanks to Bloody-Disgusting, we have zombie roaches:
Real life zombie news is cool, even if it's just a roach. One of my favorite 'geek news' websites, Slashdot.org, discovered some really interesting news over at TheUploader. They write, "The story leaves nothing to embellish: The wasp, Ampulex compressa, has evolved to inject a toxin into a specific part of a roach's brain, turning it into a zombie. The wasp then leads the zombie roach into the wasp's nest, lays eggs inside it, and waits for its young to hatch, who will then go on to do the same to more roaches."
