Zombie odds and ends...
Anthropophagus
From Fango:
ANTHROPOPHAGUS has been delayed for a number of reasons, he says. It took some time getting all the materials, and then we ran into some technical issues which have finally been corrected. Obviously, given past problems, we found it much more important to correct them and delay the release than put it out on time with the problems, even at the risk of people grumbling about its delay. But it all seems to check out now, and the release will be a rockin' one; it should be ready to ship by the end of this month. The package includes an anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer of the uncut movie, with audio tracks (both mono) in English and Italian with new English subtitles; Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut 2: The Horror Films (an hour-long documentary, in Italian with English subs); a 2005 live appearance by stars George Eastman and Zora Kerova discussing ANTHROPOPHAGUS; alternate opening credits sequences; and trailers. Retail price is $19.95.

My Dead Girlfriend
Also from Fango:
Brett Kelly, Canadian director of the BONESETTER movies and THE FERAL MAN, passed on a bit of news and a photo from his latest project, the horror/comedy MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND. Written by John Muggleton, the movie is described as FAWLTY TOWERS meets THE EVIL DEAD and stars Kelly as a guy who accidentally runs over and kills his gal pal (Caitlin Delaney). But she's not gone for long; she comes back as a flesheating zombie, which puts a bit of a strain on their relationship. Ralph Gethings was in charge of FX on the movie, which will be released by an as-yet-unnamed DVD company later this year.Click here to see more photos, poster art and a trailer.
