I sometimes debate as to whether or not I want to pick up the latest Fango. It's been hit and miss with me, frankly, since they started putting more than just a few color panels in the middle of the mag. I miss the days of the black and white course grained paper. That's just me. Times change and everything becomes flashy...and Fango hits issue #250. Seems like issue #150 was just yesterday...Anyway...so, pick it up, or no? I say pick it up. Here's a few zombie reasons why:There’s a big ol’ George Romero interview in which he retrospectively takes a look at Land of the Dead, a big article on Tamara, and one on the Masters of Horror series (Dance of the Dead, The Homecoming). There’s also a page on Night of the Living Dead 3D, a snippet for Jamie Russell’s Book of the Dead, and, of course, a smattering of zombie flicks on the Video Chopping List.
It's also that time of year again...time to vote on Fangoria's Chainsaw Awards:
Land of the Dead is up for Best Wide-Release film, John Leguizamo is up for Best Actor for Land, Robert Joy for Best Supporting Actor for Land, Mr. Romero for Best Screenplay...you guessed it, for Land. Also, Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger are up for Best Makeup/Creature FX...for Land. That's all as far as zombies go...you'll have to pick up the issue, or click here, for the rest of the runners. Don't forget to think hard on both the Worst Film and your vote on who next to induct into the Fangoria Hall of Fame.
Speaking of Fango...you can go here, to their site, to possibly win an All Soul's Day DVD--the deadline is Feb. 6. Want to up your chances of winning this particular movie? Go to All Things Zombie and enter DeadKev's contest as well. This one ends sooner--Jan. 31st.
