Resident Evil: Afterlife is the sequel to Resident Evil: Apocalypse from Screen Gems. Producer Paul W. S. Anderson has completed the screenplay for Afterlife. The events of Afterlife will lead to Japan where Resident Evil 4 will be set. The release date hasn't been set yet but is scheduled for a 2007 release.

Synopsis:

Taking place after the events in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Alice (Milla Jovovich) struggles to co-operate after becoming the latest project from The Umbrella Corporation. With a few S.T.A.R.S. members surviving Raccoon City can they be Alice's target? With the T-virus narrowly escaping Raccoon City, the Umbrella Corporation is planning to replace humans with a breed of undead clones. Will the U.S. Government stop them in time? Or will the world suffer the same fate as Raccoon City?

Mike Epps will return to reprise his role as L.J. for Afterlife.
Albert Wesker has been confirmed to appear in Afterlife.
Paul Anderson has said that Leon Kennedy might appear in Afterlife. If not, Kennedy will certianly be in the Fourth movie playing a bigger part than he would have in Afterlife.
Sources indicate the release date to be set for a 2007 date.
The budget of this movie is still unknown.
Impact and Constantin Films announced 2 more sequels to Resident Evil: Apocalypse after success worldwide.
The final reel of Afterlife will shift the action to Japan where Resident Evil 4 will be set.

The movie will be shot in Tokyo.
The movie will have nothing to do with the game Resident Evil 4.
It is expected to be the last movie of the series.
A rumored title is Resident Evil: Annihilation because of the titling of the previous sequels with the letter A and because it will be the end of the series and most likely the annihilation of the Umbrella Corporation.
The movie is planned for a 2007 release but nothing is official yet.
Filming might begin in mid 2006 right after the completion of Afterlife.
Capcom might create new characters and creatures for the movie.
The movie might be released back to back with Afterlife.
Rumors indicate that the movie series could be restarted by Sony.
