Pretty Girls Make Graves

It's a classic love story with a horrible twist.

A rich man and pretty young woman meet and marry.

The husband is later killed but comes back as a zombie to haunt his wife and her boyfriend.

"But that's just the beginning of, ‘Pretty Girls Make Graves,' " said Tim Davis, who produced and directed the film with Rodney Harper.

The film, shot entirely in and around Spencer, will premiere at the town's Robey Theater on Halloween night. The Robey is the oldest theater that's still in continuous use in the United States.

Davis, who is a graphic designer, photographer and videographer and Harper, who owns a tattoo business called Horrorink.com paid for the film out of their own pockets.

"This is a very low-budget picture," he said. "We used local actors, all citizens of Spencer, and they all did a great job.
