Slither DVD Announced

Today Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced that they will release James Gunn's cult classic SLiTHER (review #1, #2) on October 24th, according to Davis DVD. The eagerly anticipated horror flick will be released in separate anamorphic and fullscreen editions, each with Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Bonus materials will include an audio commentary with director James Gunn and actor Nathan Fillion, a collection of deleted scenes, "Visual Effects: Step By Step," "The Sick Minds and Slimy Days of Slither," "Bringing Slither's Creatures to Life," "Slithery Set Tour with Nathan Fillion," "Who Is Bill Pardy?," "Gorehound Grill: Brewin' The Blood" and "The King of Cult: Lloyd Kaufman's Video Diary" featurettes, a blooper reel and trailers. Retail is $29.98, $39.98 for the day-and-date HD-DVD. When farmers’ livestock turn up horribly mutilated and a young women goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion) and his team, aided by Grant’s wife Starla (Elizabeth Banks), uncover the dark force laying siege to their town… and come face-to-face with an older-than-time organism intent on absorbing and devouring all life on Earth.
