Zombies invade the Miner's Theatre

From Belleville News-Democrat:

If you feel the need to fiddle with the color contrast while attending the Miner's Theatre over the next two weeks, restrain yourself.

Director Shelly Steuart says the haunting monochromatic shades of "Night of the Living Dead" are just the way she wants them.

"The 1960s movie was made in black and white, so we're doing the entire show in black and white, which has been a bit of a challenge," said Steuart. "We've found that black and white isn't just black and white -- it's every shade of gray in between. In order to make the set look anything but boring, we've done a lot of paint mixing. If you look closely, you'll see the sublte differences."

The stage remake by Lori Allen Ohm of the cult classic runs today, Saturday, Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 at the historic theater in downtown Collinsville.
